I love doing beta work. It's very satisfying (and sometimes a bit scary that people entrust their fics to me), but it also gives me first looks at some incredible stories and a little insight into their creation.

So, here are a couple of recs for fics I've recently had the honor to beta.

sonadorita's OT4 fic, Buzz, Buzz is a lovely, hot story about Toys, and it's from Teyla's POV. What I like best about this story is that the author presents lots of steamy imagery and at the fic's end, leaves a lot of room for the reader's imagination and the creation of their own imagery. I love when that happens.

velocitygrass wrote Promise for sgamadison's Epistolary Challenge. It's a wonderful story about forever and knowing what you want and it sums up the relationship between John and Rodney in a most satisfying way.

Believe it or not, an afternoon spent in Photoshop has stirred the creative juices, so I'm going to spend the evening writing. But first, I thought I'd post the fruits of my labors. There are a few icons and a wallpaper, based on the theme "bare." Yes, I seem to be obsessed with Sheppard/Flanigan of late, but I think it's because of that marvelous face! All those lines and curves and shadows and texture just appeal to my artist's side (and a few other places as well). I promise to give Rodney/Hewlett the same attention. The wallpaper won't be for everyone I'm sure, but the more I studied this particular photo and then the colors, the more I thought of the John in my story Lament of Consequence. So I pulled a few lines from the story. Certainly, anything is snaggable if you like, I just ask that you credit.

In honor of

melagan's birthday, and because she is the original SGA Porn Floozy, and a great friend, I'd like to declare April 2^nd the official SGA Porn Floozy Day.  I mean, there's an official something or other day every day, right?  So why not a day that gives us all the freedom to revel in our flooziness?  Come on, you mean you've never asked yourself the same question?
