I MADE IT!  I survived mini_nanowrimo, barely.  I am quite pleased to say that I wrote every day, and as my project was to write a fic, ficlet or drabble daily, that worked out quite nice.  So I should say I conceived, wrote, edited and posted every day.  All of the offerings are SGA episode related, McShep centric, and revolve around their burgeoning relationship.  I've dubbed the entire series "Moments in Time - Days in the Lives."  mischief5 commented that it had been a rollercoaster ride and I believe that is a most apt description - of both my "wrimo" experience and of John and Rodney's relationship.

 
This post contains links to all 30 stories.  I am very proud to have survived the month.  Not only did I meet and exceed my goal of writing 100 words a day for 30 days, I met and exceeded my personal writing goal of 30,000 words for the month (set upon me by something deep in my psyche, or my muse, and trust me, you don't want to know too much about either one).  This project also gave me the opportunity to experiment with the drabble and confining myself to set word counts.  That was quite a challenge as well.  Other than this project, I worked on various McShep WIPs, and hopefully you will be seeing the fruits of that labor soon.

To all of you who took "the ride," and everyone at words_count, there aren't enough words to express my gratitude for your comments, feedback and encouragement.  I could not have completed the project without it!  Would I do this again, you ask?  You bet'cha!

Okay, so tomorrow is the final installment of my month-long SGA project for mini_nanowrimo. Well, I had to start a new post because Day 26 was too large to add to the others.  So, First Strike, Adrift/Lifeline and Doppleganger and a surprise ending, left to go.  This will be days 26 -30.  I will also be posting daily at mcsheplets.  Thanks to all  who are following this little endeavor, we're in the home stretch now.

Wow, week 3 blew by!  I can't believe this is week 4, and the last week, of  mini_nanowrimo, but it is.  Only 9 more days to finish out the project.  As you know, I'm taking an episode of SGA each day and writing a series of drabbles, ficlets, or whatever I can come up with, through the McShep lens.  The focus has shifted to the theme of the developing relationship of John and Rodney and I think when you take them 1-30, that progression is evident.  As a tease, the remaining episodes will be Echoes, Tao of Rodney, Irresponsible, The Game, Sunday, Submersion, First Strike, Adrift/Lifeline and Doppleganger.

Well, Week 2 gone - half way home!  I think this week has been more challenging than the first.  While I've kept up with my daily SGA project, I was also determined to work on other McShep WIP's I have so I wouldn't lose my thread.  Thankfully, I've found that not to be the case, and have actually started new fics as well.  I've been asked by several friends to do a sequel to Don't Ask showing what happens when John gets to the mainland, and I'm going to do that, but it's going slowly right now.  Boy, when all this comes to fruition...   Anyway, I've started week three, moving into Season 3 of SGA, and looking forward to Thanksgiving Holidays coming up where I can hopefully curl up and write.

Well, Week 1 under my belt!  I must say it's been very challenging, and especially so since I've written mostly drabbles and strictly confined my word count.  This is one of the disciplines I had hoped to develop and I was quite pleased with the results.  Judicious editing is the key, and makes you really think about the words you're using.  Again, I'm taking 30 episodes of SGA, and writing McShep related drabbles, ficlets and perhaps a couple of full grown fics, with the theme of "firsts."  Anyway, I'm looking forward to Week 2.

So, I've signed up for mini_nanowrimo.   I've committed to write at least 100 words per day for the 30 days of November.  To spare those on my flist from cluttering up things daily, I'm going to do a weekly post and just edit and insert cuts for each day.  My project is a series of drabbles, ficlets, whatever I can come up with, in the SGA fandom and McKay/Sheppard in particular, although I won't rule out writing other characters or gen related thingys.  The theme is "firsts."  I'm going to pick 30 episodes - 30 days, 30 episodes - and write about first impressions, first touches, first kisses, first fights-- well you get the idea.
